CSC launches job portal for aspiring civil servants

QUEZON CITY (PIA) -- In an effort to make government job opportunities more accessible, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) launched the CSC Job Portal, providing aspiring civil servants with a comprehensive list of job vacancies offered by national government agencies, local government units, and state universities and colleges.

CSC Chairperson Karlo Alexi Nograles, in a statement, expressed his enthusiasm for the CSC Job Portal, highlighting the thousands of applicants who benefit from the platform annually. This year, we extend our invitation to fresh college graduates, first-time job seekers, recent Career Service Exams passers, and those looking to make a career transition)," Nograles stated.

The CSC Job Portal offers user-friendly features that allow interested applicants to filter job listings based on position title, agency name, and region to streamline their search for available vacancies. Once a suitable position has been identified, the portal provides essential information for each job, including position title, place of assignment, plantilla item number, application deadline, salary/job grade, and qualification standards.

Chairperson Nograles emphasized the importance of applicants connecting directly with the relevant agency for the submission of applications and any inquiries regarding the job vacancy. Additionally, he advised job seekers to thoroughly review the qualification standards and competencies required for each position, as eligibility alone does not guarantee permanent appointment.

The implementation of a single, unified platform for government job vacancies via the CSC Job Portal is a result of CSC Resolution No. 2000221, dated 4 February 2020. This resolution mandates agencies to submit their lists of authorized vacant positions to the appropriate CSC Field Office (FO) in electronic and printed formats. The printed copy is then displayed on bulletin boards by the agencies and the CSC FOs, while the electronic copy is forwarded to the CSC Regional Office for publication on the CSC website.

The CSC's ultimate goal is to encourage more qualified Filipinos to join the public sector and contribute to national development. "We are hoping that more qualified Filipinos will enter the public sector and be a part of the 1.8 million civil service workforce toward a stronger, more agile public sector that contributes to national development," said Chairperson Nograles, expressing optimism for a stronger future ahead.
