BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - At least 400 farmers in this town have received fertilizers from the Department of Agriculture (DA).

Mayor Benjamin Cuaresma III said the fertilizers were given by the DA through the National Rice Program (NRP).

“The fertilizers were donated by China and we distributed them to our farmers who are in dire need of this assistance,” he said.

Cuaresma said the fertilizer assistance from the DA is timely considering the problems being faced by farmers due to the El nino phenomenon and the onslaught of previous typhoons.

He expressed gratitude to the DA for sustaining the agricultural needs of farmers in the form of various assistance.

“We are always reminding our farmers to make use of the assistance for their full benefit so that they can recoup their losses from natural calamities, disasters and adverse effects of climate change,” Cuaresma said. (BME/PIA NVizcaya)
