PUERTO PRINCESA, Palawan (PIA) -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) - Palawan 3rd District Engineering Office has completed the two-kilometer road expansion that is part of the stretch of Puerto Princesa City North Road.

This is the Kilometer 0047+953 to Kilometer 0050+000 in Brgy. Maruyogon wherein from six meters wide on the two-kilometer road, it has been increased to 18.4 meters.

DPWH Palawan 3rd District Engineering Office reported that with the completion of the aforementioned project, travel time from the city to the northern municipalities is expected to be improved as well as the delivery of products and other services.

It is also expected that accidents or collisions on the road by motorists will be avoided because both lanes of the road are wider and allow motorists ample space to navigate turns without entering the opposite lane.

The two-kilometer road widening project was funded by the DPWH in the amount of P74.8 million and implemented on May 23, 2022, and was completed recently. (OCJ/PIA-Palawan)
