TADIAN, Mountain Province(PIA) --  Government agencies  have again converged,   this time to  deliver services through the   Serbisyo Caravan in five  barangays  in   this municipality.

Led by the  Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict(PTF-ELCAC) and the Tadian local government unit headed by Mayor Constito Masweng, the  caravan with the theme  “Convergence for Peace and Development” was conducted in the clustered barangays of Sumadel, Batayan, Bantey on August 2; barangay Lubon on  Aug.  3,  and  in Duagan on  Aug. 4.

Various national line agencies participated in the activity, bringing their respective services to the community as part of the Whole-of-Nation Approach in promoting peace and development in identified ELCAC barangays.

Services provided include  free haircut and circumcision,  visual acuity assessment or  eye check-up, blood pressure monitoring,  fluoride application,  information education campaign on different government programs ,  micro-financing counselling,  applications  for skills training, marriage certificate and birth certificate,  and for land titling.

Some livelihood kits, seedlings and shelter repair kits, among others  were turned over to the beneficiaries.

Philippine National Police personnel also  presented their  programs and police-community engagements in ensuring  and promoting  peace and security in the municipality.

As explained  by  the  Mayor to the communities,  the caravan  is a component of the Retooled Community Support Program(RCSP)  under  Executive Order 70 institutionalizing the whole of nation approach  in ending  local communist armed conflicts  and  achieving inclusive and sustainable peace.

“We have four stages of the processes of the implementation of the benefits of ELCAC barangays and the Serbisyo Caravan is one of the components of the RCSP or Retooled Community Support Program. The first stage is the identification of ELCAC barangays by the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict. This was then followed by the Community Support Program which  would not have been  successful without the cooperation of the barangay officials and the community as well, and that is why I am very thankful of your support” Masweng said.

The  RCSP aims to address identified issues of the community by closing governance and development gaps through provision of needed government programs, projects and activities to attain sustainable peace, social justice and ultimate development

Masweng  thanked all the agencies  that participated in the caravan.

“We have a lot of agencies participating in this caravan. Thank you so much for bringing your services today despite the weather” he said.(JDP/CVBT-PIA Mountain Province)
