P3.62 M Addalam irrigation contract works completed

SAGUDAY, Quirino (PIA) - - The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Quirino Irrigation Management Office (QIMO) reported that the contract works along Lateral 21 of the Addalam River Irrigation System (ADRIS) in Saguday has been completed.

According to Rachel Ann Mariquit Rueda, NIA-QIMO information officer, the project, executed under contract number NCB-QIMO-INFRA-05-23 P5, involved the construction of concrete canal lining and canal structures, with a total value of P3.62 million.

“The completed irrigation serves as a vital enhancement to the irrigation system, significantly improving water management and distribution along Lateral 21,” Rueda said.

Rueda further said a total of 78 farmer-beneficiaries in the area will now have access to a more efficient and reliable water supply, thereby enhancing their farming activities and overall livelihood.

“The project implementation was concluded on July 5, 2023, marking a successful milestone for the agricultural sector,” Rueda said as she acknowledged the contractor’s smooth execution of all tasks and adherence to the project timeline.

The construction process was handled by FNS Builders and Enterprises under the supervision of Engr. Beljann Nicolas, the NIA Project in Charge.

The NIA information officer also announced the ongoing construction of Canal Lining and Canal Structures of Dumabel Communal Irrigation System (CIS) in Aglipay with a total value of P 2.108 million.
