ANGELES CITY (PIA) – Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. will donate paint materials and cement bags to the 54 public schools in the city out of his own pocket.
Each school will receive two buckets of paint, four paint rollers, and five bags of cement which they can use in their clean up and restoration activities for the upcoming school year as part of the Brigada Eskwela.
“Education will remain on top of our development agenda. That is why it is important to keep our schools in good condition so that students can learn,” Lazatin stressed.
For his part, Department of Education (DepEd) Angeles City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Ronaldo Pozon thanked the mayor for being accommodating to the needs of the education sector in the city.
“Mayor Lazatin’s initiative to support the Angeleño learners has always been generous, and is always more than what we ask for. Students and teachers alike benefit from his initiatives for our sector,” Pozon said.
During his State of the City Address (SOCA) in June, Lazatin announced the city government’s plan to establish state-of-the-art computer laboratories in all 54 public schools in the city to equip students with technology skills needed for today’s globally-competitive set-up. (CLJD/MJSC-PIA 3)
