PhilHealth’s Konsulta package serves over 45K beneficiaries in Davao Region

DAVAO CITY (PIA) -- The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) XI has served a total of 45,214 first-patient encounters under the Konsulta Benefit Package in Davao Region from 2022 to July 2023.

This amounted to over P6.4 million worth of laboratory tests, medical consultations, and medicines, which were availed of for free by PhilHealth-XI members who have registered under the Konsulta Benefit Package.

It has also accredited a total of 96 Konsulta providers across Davao region, mostly government facilities and rural health units (RHUs).

The complete list and the location of these accredited Konsulta providers can be accessed through the PhilHealth-XI website, said PhilHealth-XI Field Office Division Chief Filbert Bryan Sollesta during the Kapehan sa Dabaw at SM City Davao on Monday, Aug. 7.

Sollesta said that they continue to encourage more health facilities to be accredited to cater to more beneficiaries in the region.

He again reminded the members to register so they can avail of the benefits of the program, emphasizing that Philhealth will not grant any benefit if one is not registered under the program.

“May registration process na kailangan nating gawin muna. Kailangan munang nandun sila sa ating database, at pwede na silang makapag-avail ng benefits ng konsulta,” he said.

He added “They can come to our office, to the local health insurance offices, or pumunta na sila direkta doon sa ating mga konsulta provider, at pwede na po silang magparehistro.”

Sollesta emphasized the importance of the program as a measure to prevent underlying health conditions from getting worse and leading to costly treatments, because risks and diagnosis could be identified and detected early on through check-ups and consultations.

“It is also important that we join the program of Philhealth, particularly the Konsulta program because it is intended to provide preventive services where we can prevent your illnesses from getting worse that would require you to get admitted already,” he explained. (ASO/CLC, PIA XI)
