CITY OF CALAPAN, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) – The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office Mimaropa (DA-RFO MIMAROPA) led the distribution of Fertilizer Discount Vouchers for Hybrid Cluster Recipients on August 8, 2023, at the Barangay Cawayan Covered Court in the municipality of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro.

The DA’s goal in providing Fertilizer Discount Vouchers is to aid farmers in lessening their expenditure in producing their crops, especially fertilizers.

According to the Department of Agriculture Memorandum Circular No. 34, only those who are members of Hybrid Cluster recipients who prior received hybrid seeds from the department are eligible to receive said Fertilizer Discount Vouchers for the 2023 cropping season.

Barangays that fall under said clusters are the barangays of Camantigue, Cawayan, Dayhagan, Kaligtasan, Ogbot at Pulosahi.

Staff from the DA led the activity with the help of Municipal Agriculturist Gary Louie A. Sapinit.

Also present in the activity is Bongabong Vice Mayor Richard Candelario who expressed his support for the department’s programs in aiding their farmers. (JJGS/PIA Mimaropa-OrMin)
