DAGUPAN CITY (PIA) – The construction of super health centers will soon provide quality health services to residents in rural areas in Pangasinan.
This was bared by Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, who personally visited on Thursday the construction site of one of the super health centers in the province which is located at Sitio Ambalangan Dalin, Barangay Bolaney in Alaminos City.
Go said that super health centers will also be built in eight municipalities such as Balungao, Basista, Manaoag, Mapandan, Tayug, Pozorrubio, Asingan, and Umingan that will soon benefit its constituents.
“Super health center is a medium type of a polyclinic and improved version of rural health unit. Pwede po dyan ang dental, laboratory, X-ray, at iba pang serbisyo medikal na maaari nating mailapit sa ating mga kababayan,” Go said.
The centers will have the following services: laboratory facilities, pharmacy, birthing facilities, outpatient department, dental services, comprehensive PhilHealth outpatient department, and other minor services.
“Malaking bagay po itong super health center dahil early detection po ang layunin nito. Dito po tayo magpapakonsulta upang hindi na lumala ‘yong sakit at hindi na kailangan pumunta pa ng ospital. This will also decongest our hospitals,” he added.
The establishment of the super health center, which is funded under the Health Facilities Enhancement Program, is initiated by Go to give priority to the needs of the public for convenient access to quality healthcare services.
Go added that the local government units’ modification to the centers’ usage after the Department of Health has turned over the facility to them is most welcomed.
Alaminos City Mayor Arth Bryan Celeste said the center will greatly help not only those residing in the city but also other neighboring towns in western Pangasinan because it will give them more convenient and accessible primary care services.
“Our super health complex po kasi namin ay located sa aming 1.7 hectare medical complex, so were not just talking about kung ano lang ‘yong maibibigay ng center dahil complementary na po lahat ng buildings na magkakatabi doon. This will greatly benefit not just the city of Alaminos but the entire first district of Pangasinan,” Celeste said.
Celeste added that the construction is expected to be completed by the first quarter of next year. (JCR/AMB/EMSA/PIA Pangasinan)
