PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan (PIA) -- The local office of the elections commission assured the hundred percent preparedness of all printed voters’ lists and its coordination with the official courier for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections in October.
Provincial Elections Supervisor Atty. Percival Mendoza said during the Kapihan sa PIA that all voters’ lists are already at the election officers of each municipality and will be readily distributed to electoral boards. He added that F2 Logistics who won the bidding will be the official courier of this year’s elections nationwide.
“One hundred percent na yong ating printed na voters’ list-- yung ating coordinator, assigned branch has already coordinated with us on the delivery of election paraphernalia, official ballots and other accountable forms,” Mendoza said.
Comelec Palawan is just waiting for the orders coming from the Manila office about the number and schedule of delivery of election materials to the provincial hub and then to municipal offices.

Mendoza also reminds aspirants for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls on the filing of certificates of candidacy (COCs) from August 28 to September 2, starting from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Except if there are-- sa last day, there are people who are coming in within the 30-meter radius for the purpose of filing certificate of candidacy, it may be extended accordingly pero it’s a matter of cut off,” he said.
The office has already coordinated with the Philippine Air Force for filing of COC in Barangay Pag-asa, including the provision of a ride for the election officer who is assuming office at Puerto Princesa City. He added that the filing must be done in the town where it is located.
Other island towns like Agutaya, Cuyo, Magsaysay, Balabac and Calamian Group of Islands will take the common carrier facility going to Puerto Princesa from the office of each election officer to the office of the provincial election supervisor.
“For purposes of distribution, the same thing goes as we have done this during the last elections noong May 2022. Everything will be deposited in the provincial hub in Puerto Princesa and then redistributed accordingly as planned and as may be ordered from the COMELEC Manila,” he added.
