QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The Civil Service Commission (CSC)-National Capital Region (NCR) awarded Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte as the Regional Winner of the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award in the CSC's 2023 Search for Outstanding Government Workers.
CSC-NCR Acting Director Hans Alcantara and CSC Director Victoria Esber personally awared the citation to Mayor Belmonte at the Quezon City hall.
The Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award is awarded to individuals or groups that have provided service to the nation at the national level.
Mayor Belmonte is now included in the list of regional winners as 2023 Presidential Lingkod Bayan (PLB) Awardee, selected by the Office of the President.
The local chief executive expressed her gratitude for the recognition, and shared her award with all the government employees working in the service of Quezon City.
"If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't be able to get this recognition that serves as proof that our programs and projects are effective and useful in our city," said Belmonte.
Aside from Mayor Belmonte, certification was also given to several other QC LGU officials as Pagasa Award nominees including Chief of Staff Ms. Rowena Macatao, City Administrator Michael Alimurung, Asst. City Administrator Alberto Kimpo, City Engineering Department Head Atty. Dale Perral, Business Permits and Licensing Department Head Ms. Margie Santos, and City Treasurer Mr. Edgar Villanueva.
Also among the nominees is the late traffic enforcer Mr. Jeffrey Antolin for Outstanding Public Officials and Employees (Dangal ng Bayan) Award.
The QC Government earlier recognized Antolin for his heroism after he risked his life to save an individual. (PIA-NCR)
