DTI engages young entrepreneurs, OSY in YEP

SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Antique is engaging young entrepreneurs in a program dubbed “Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP).”

DTI Antique OIC Provincial Director Mutya D. Eusores, in a media interview, discussed YEP as a program that aims to capacitate the youth to become entrepreneurs with focus on entrepreneurial mind-setting, networking, and market matching.

The YEP program engages young entrepreneurs in a four-day capacity-building workshop in which they can learn business operations, resources, and finance.

For Antique, YEP “Be Your Own Boss" will commence on August 15–18, 2023, in partnership with San Jose Multi-purpose Cooperative.

Eusores added that 15 out-of-school youth (OSY) will be the beneficiaries of this year’s implementation and will be given a chance to join in business pitching and showcase their products during the trade fair.

The program is also open to youth organizations, students, young indigenous people, and youth with disabilities.

Aside from the capability-building programs under YEP, DTI Antique is also conducting one-on-one entrepreneurship seminars and coaching sessions for aspiring youth entrepreneurs.

Interested individuals could visit the Negosyo Centers located in every municipality for assistance.

Aspiring OSY can also visit the DTI Antique Office for questions on how to be a YEP beneficiary. (AGP/PSM/PIA Antique with reports from Cherry Ann Santosildes/GIP)
