PSA opens CRS outlet in Roxas City

ROXAS CITY, CAPIZ (PIA) -- The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and Unisys recently launched and inaugurated the new Civil Registry System (CRS) outlet here, providing Capisnon clients with in-house civil registry services.

Through this, it will be easier and cost-efficient for Capisnon to process and request authenticated copies of birth certificates, marriage certificates, death certificates, certificates of no marriage (CENOMAR), and certificates of no death (CENODEATH), among others.

National Statistician and Civil Registry General Undersecretary Claire Dennis Mapa delivers a message during the inaguration and blessing of the new CRS Outlet in Roxas City.

National Statistician and Civil Registry General Undersecretary Claire Dennis Mapa said that based on his assessment, the CRS outlet in Roxas City is one of the very successful partnerships between a national government agency and a private corporation bringing services closer to its clients.

“This opening of the CRS outlet here in the province is an important milestone that will serve the citizens of Roxas City and the entire province of Capiz,” Mapa added.

Usec. Mapa emphasized the importance of civil registration and vital statistics, particularly the birth certificate being the foundation of all documents.

“We aim that by the end of 2024, 99.5 percent of the citizens must have a birth certificate on record,” Mapa said, urging the local civil registry officials to

increase the number of Filipinos with birth registration.

In a message from Capiz Gov. Fredenil Castro through Deputy Administrator for the first district of Capiz Enrique V. Martin, he said, “You made us all feel special because it was only in Aklan and Iloilo ang may ara, we felt second class before, but now we felt the same first-class people.” (You made us all feel special because it was only Aklan and Iloilo that has a CRS outlet, we felt second class before, but now we felt the same first-class people.)

Martin also praised the new office and he reminisced that for more than four decades Capisnon were having additional expenses for their fare going to Kalibo or Iloilo City just to get a PSA authenticated copy.

For her part, PSA OIC- Regional Director Nelida Amolar said that the newly opened CRS outlet is the fifth of its kind in Western Visayas and the 62nd in the country.

Unisys officials together with PSA OIC- Regional Director Nelida Amolar and USEC Claire Dennis Mapa, among others.

Amolar congratulated PSA Provincial Statistics Officer Frankie Dordas and his staff for the successful milestone of having a CRS outlet in Capiz.

Further, Roxas City mayor Ronnie Dadivas through the City Registrar Marlene Alvaran, hopes that sometime in the future, the PSA will consider establishing a full-blown, full-service in Roxas City.

“A key component of public service is accessibility and we see Roxas City becoming a hub for important and frequent government services for a collective version of a bigger, better, and brighter Roxas City,” Dadivas added. (AGP/PLF/PIA Capiz)
