
The award was received by Undersecretary Maria Catalina E. Cabral, DPWH-Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) chairperson,
after a series of screening, evaluation, and validation conducted by PCW from November of 2022 up to the final deliberation on June 5, 2023.
“This distinction magnifies our agency’s unwavering dedication to gender mainstreaming and our skillful execution of the various infrastructure in the country,” Cabral said.
“It reverberates our resounding message that the DPWH management, led by
Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, stands firmly in our solidarity with the endeavors of the GAD Focal Point System,” Cabral added.

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) --The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has received two (2) awards from the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) on Monday, August 14, 2023, during the 14th year anniversary celebration of the signing of the Magna Carta of Women at the Samsung Hall, SM Aura Premier, Taguig City.
DPWH was conferred with GADtimpala Bronze for Outstanding Gender-Responsive Agency for its excellent performance in gender mainstreaming and effective implementation of gender-responsive programs and the GADtimpala Silver for Exemplary GAD Focal Point System (GADtimpala AlaGAD) for the significant contributions of the executive committee and members of the GFPS in promoting gender equality.

As a recipient of previous awards, the DPWH remained steadfast in carrying out projects, programs, and policies that promote inclusivity, gender-equality, and gender-responsiveness in all infrastructure facilities that champion the rights of women today and the generations to come.
Also attending the awarding ceremony were DPWH Executives including Undersecretary for Regional Operations Roberto R. Bernardo, Assistant Secretary for Support Services Marichu A. Palafox, Assistant Secretary for Planning Service Constante Llanes Jr., along with Human Resource and Administrative Service (HRAS) Director Michael S.
