QUEZON CITY, (PIA)-- The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) signed an agreement to enable each agency to hare each other with personal data of arrested foreign nationals detained in all city and municipal jails across the country.
The data sharing agreement was held in simple rites at the PDEA National Headquarters, Quezon City on August 15, 2023 PDEA Director General Undersecretary Moro Virgilio Lazo and Jail Director Ruel Rivera, Chief, BJMP as main signatories
Under the agreement, criminal and intelligence information collected by PDEA and BJMP will be mutually shared in accordance with the provisions of the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
The exchanged information will greatly aid investigation and crackdown on members of drug trafficking organizations.
Also in attendance were Assistant Secretary Israel Ephraim Dickson, PDEA Deputy Director General for Administration (DDGA); Assistant Secretary Renato Gumban, PDEA Deputy Director General for Operations (DDGO); and Director Derrick Arnold Carreon, PDEA Chief-of-Staff/Chief, PIO. (pdea/pia-ncr)
