KALAYAAN, Palawan (PIA) -- Senator Robin Padilla visited the Pag Asa Island, Kalayaan to check on possible developmental programs he can provide in the municipality on August 11, 2023.

Sen. Padilla also visited the Coast Guard Station Kalayaan and Coast Guard Weapons, Communications, Electronic and Information Systems Command (CGWCEISC) Maritime Communications Station.

On his visit, Sen. Padilla assured the residents of his support for their community. He also promised to help them improve their livelihood and infrastructure.

According to Ariel Carlos, spokesperson for Kalayaan, the visit is related to assessing which projects Sen. Padilla can assist the residents with.

“The senator’s visit was well-received by the residents of Pag-Asa. They expressed their gratitude for his support and commitment to helping their community,” said Carlos.

Meanwhile, Kalayaan Sangguniang Bayan Member Maurice Phillip Albayda in an interview with Radyo Pilipinas-Palawan approaches the Senator about the "Kalayaan Government Operations Center" project which they hope will be included in the Senate's funding for the Year 2024.

Albayda said that Sen. Padilla wanted to visit the people of Kalayaan, especially after the recent incident between the Chinese Coast Guard and the Philippine Coast Guard at Ayungin Shoal.

Sen. Padilla was recently declared an adopted son of the municipality through an SB resolution because of his advocacies to improve the lives of Kalayaanons even before his election as a senator. (GATS/PIA MIMAROPA)
