MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA)--The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) recently hosted the 2nd Regional Multistakeholder Consultation in Northern Mindanao to work on the National ICT Development Agenda, Digital Government Master Plan 2023-2028, and the Philippine Government Interoperability Framework.
Stakeholders from diverse sectors, including national government agencies, local government units, telecommunication providers, and state colleges and universities, convened to gather various perspectives on technological advancement.
The insights from discussions will become a part of the country's digital strategy. After collecting and approving all consultations, the DICT Secretary will present them to the President.
"We are eager to engage with the stakeholders and seek their valuable input in formulating our ICT development plan. It is a significant moment in President Bongbong Marcos' administration, and we are committed to submitting a comprehensive roadmap for the President's approval," said Maria Victoria Castro, the National ICT Planning Director at DICT.
Meanwhile, DICT-10 Regional Director Sittie Rahima Alawi shared that all the regional offices welcome the consultation activity as all information gathered will be a significant contribution to the master plan for the country’s digitalization phase.
She emphasized that conceptualizing the master plan and blueprint is a guide to the pinpoints and areas that need improvements in the country's digital transformation.
We are well-prepared with our current resources, and this master plan will further enhance our ongoing initiatives. It demonstrates our agency's commitment to advancing the country's digitalization," Alawi said.
After concluding the initial consultation, DICT will proceed with four additional regional multistakeholders consultations culminating in the final session in the National Capital Region. With the event, the agency aims to engage the public to be part of the country’s digital transition. (JAKA/PIA 10)
