QUEZON CITY (PIA) -- In an inspiring initiative aimed at supporting the students, the City Government of Mandaluyong has commenced the distribution of school supplies and uniforms for current and incoming public school students.
The turnover ceremony was held at the City Hall Executive Building, which was graced by Mayor Ben Abalos, Vice Mayor Menchie Abalos, and Mandaluyong Schools Division Office (SDO) Superintendent Dr. Aurelio Alfonso.
The comprehensive package of school supplies includes essential items such as notebooks, diaries, and school bags, ensuring that students from daycare to Grade 12 are adequately equipped for their educational journey. Moreover, in an effort to enhance learning opportunities and prevent the sharing of reference materials, student will each receive subject-specific books.
In addition to these, the generous initiative extends to providing students with free school uniforms and shoes. This includes Physical Education (P.E.) uniforms and socks, ensuring that students can actively participate in physical activities while fostering a sense of unity and school spirit. Further, female elementary and high school students will receive cycling shorts, while daycare and kinder students will be given black tights, which are comfortable to use and practical.
Mayor Abalos expressed his unwavering commitment to supporting the education sector, stating that the city government has been providing free school supplies and uniforms on a yearly basis. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden faced by parents, ensuring that their children can attend school without any hindrances.
