CSC chief bares activities, plans for PH civil service anniversary in September

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairperson Karlo Nograles bared activities lined-up  for the 123rd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary in September.

During the press briefing at the Philippine Information Agency in Quezon City on Friday, August 18, Nograles shared  the month-long anniversary celebration will kick-off with an online Zumba and film showing on September 1.

Nograles said that this year’s anniversary theme focuses on the dynamism of the Philippine civil service – agile and future ready. He said that civil servants’ dynamism adapts to changes without compromising the service to the public.

Also part of the celebration activity is the conduct of the online job fair with over 200,000 various jobs from the government sector. Likewise, a bloodletting drive will be held at the CSC Central Office in Quezon City, Philippine Blood Center, and at the SM Mall of Asia, and in other areas nationwide. Qualified government employees for the bloodletting activity will get a compensatory time off.

To honor fallen government workers, the CSC, in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), will conduct a simultaneous ‘Plant-Run’ on September 17 across the regions nationwide to raise funds for the ‘Pamanang Lingkod Bayani.’

The program gives honor to government workers who died in the line of duty through the provision of one-time financial assistance plus scholarship opportunities to their family members.

The CSC chair added that the commission plans to expand the conduct of computerized exam to give more chances for examinees to join the 1.9 million work force of the government.

Meanwhile, Nograles welcomed the news of the Department of Budget and Management’s (DBM) allocation of P16.95 billion earmarked for salary increments of government employees.

Nograles thanked the Phlippine Information Agency, headed by Director-General Jose A. Torres, Jr. for conducting the press briefing in support of the Philippine Civil Service Anniversary celebration. (PIA-NCR)
