BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) has sought the declaration of ‘State of Calamity' in the province following the damages left by typhoon ‘Egay’.
The PDRRMC has approved a resolution requesting the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) in the province for the declaration during the recent council meeting.
“This will enable us to bring in assistance to our fellow Novo Vizcayanos who were victims of typhoon Egay in partnership with the concerned Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Councils (MDRRMCs) of our towns,” King Webster Balaw-ing, acting PDRRM officer said.
PDRRMO reported that typhoon ‘Egay’ left with more than P712 million worth of damages in the province.
The damaged infrastructure projects include roads, bridges and flood control, schools, health and irrigation facilities, industry, trades and services amounting to more than P50.8 million.
The typhoon’s cost of damages on agriculture such as high value crops, corn, rice and livestock/poultry is at more than P661 million. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
