Aringay was one of the hardest-hit towns because of the recent super typhoon, with La Union’s Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office’s (PDRRMO) Situational Report No. 19 reporting six flooded Barangays and 529 families affected in the municipality.

The DSWD Field Office 1 has been conducting AICS payouts to the hardest-hit areas here in the Ilocos Region in recent weeks, particularly the coastal barangays which are prone to the after-effects of calamities.

The social welfare department has also provided family food packs, hygiene kits and other materials to local government units in the region before, during and after the onslaught of Super Typhoon Egay.

Senator Imee Marcos, who led the payout said that the government aims to address the plight of beneficiaries who were affected by the recent typhoon through the provision of different government programs.

Maawatak, narigat ti biyag, isunga adda ayuda nga maited kadakayo. (I understand the hardships you face, that is why there is this aid that will be given to you) Lahat ng problema ay may solusyon,” Senator Marcos said. (JCR/MJTAB/CCMT, PIA La Union)
