PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan (PIA) -- The City Council urged intensification of security measures in Puerto Princesa City during the opening of classes to ensure the safety of students as the new academic calendar starts on August 29.
Councilor Victor Oliveros requested on August 21, the intensification of security measures through the Philippine National Police (PNP) Puerto Princesa as well as the implementation of the anti-bullying act in schools through increasing student awareness.
The presence of police will help to avoid unwanted incidents that usually happen outside the school premises, he added.
Even though no reports have yet been received on security threats, Oliveros said the resolution will help ensure the safety of students in the city.
(RPG/PIA MIMAROPA - Palawan)
