Quezon City (PIA) – The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is gearing up to celebrate a historic milestone as the 123rd Civil Service Anniversary approaches this September.
The PCSA celebration is pursuant to the Presidential Proclamation No. 1050, series of 1997 signed by the late President Fidel Valdez Ramos declaring the month of September as Civil Service Month.
In the weekly press conference of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), CSC Chairperson Karlo Alexei B. Nograles said the PCSA theme for the next 10 years will be "Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant-Heroes”.
“So hindi lamang ito para sa Civil Service kundi para sa lahat ng Civil servant ng buong bansa,” Chair Nograles emphasized.
According to CSC, the 123rd PCSA celebration shall focus on the importance of cultivating dynamism among government workers to, in turn, foster sustainable management and strengthen organizational resilience. A bureaucracy marked by dynamic employees, sustainable management/leadership, and a resilient organization is one that can adapt to abrupt changes and is capable of withstanding difficulties without compromising on service delivery – a truly future-ready civil service, as envisioned in the 10-year PCSA Theme.
The PCSA has a variety of exciting activities scheduled, such as:
· Online Zumba and Film Showing (September 1)
· Awards Rites for Outstanding Government Workers (Indicative)
· PRIME-HRM Awards (Schedule and venue to be announced by CSC Regional Offices)
· Plant-Run 2023 (September 17)
· Government Online Career Fair (GOCF) (September 18-22)
· Bloodletting Activity (September 19-21)
· 2023 Public Sector HR Symposium (September 26-27)
· Contact Center ng Bayan (CCB) Recognition of Government Agency Partners (September 27)
· Medical Mission of Government Workers (September 28)
· Agency Official Family Day (To be organized by government agencies for their employees)
All proceeds from the event will be directed to support the Pamanang Lingkod Bayani. This program aims to pay tribute to government workers who lost their lives while performing their duties, providing their families with a one-time financial assistance and scholarship opportunities.
Meanwhile, Chair Nograles reminded examinees of the upcoming Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) on Sunday, 20 August 2023 to be at the testing venue earlier than the required time of the CSC Regional/Field Offices.
The gates of testing venues shall be closed at exactly 7:45 a.m. and examinees who arrive late will not be admitted to take the exam.
The CSE-PPT will also strictly implement the “No ID, No Exam” policy. Examinees must present a valid ID card on examination day, preferably the same ID card presented during the filling of application.
“I would like to wish the best of luck sa ating examinees who are taking the Civil Service Exam this Sunday, August 20,” Chair Nograles said. (JD/PIA)
