BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - -  The Municipal Local Government Unit of Dupax del Norte has given out cash assistance to 523 officials of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and college students in the municipality  to augment their educational expenses.

Mayor Timothy Joseph Cayton said the regular cash assistance was given to 183 SK officials of their 15 barangays through an ordinance which was approved  since 2020 where P2,000 each was given to the beneficiaries.

The MLGU also gave cash assistance to 340 college students who are enrolled in public universities and colleges where P2,000 was given for the first semester while another P2,500 will be released for the second semester.

“We strived hard to institutionalize the provision of cash assistance to our college students who are enrolled in public schools so that they can also be at par with the honorarium that are given to the SK chairman and barangay officials,” he said.

The distribution of cash assistance was done in support of the ‘Linggo ng Kabataan” celebration of the municipality. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
