CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--In celebration of its 29th anniversary and National Tech-Voc Day celebration, the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA)-10 will hold a massive job fair for skilled workers dubbed World Café of Opportunities, August 25, 2023, at SM CDO City Uptown, here, and regionwide through its provincial offices.
Engr. Adrian B. Ampong, assistant regional director of TESDA-10 and provincial director of TESDA Bukidnon, shared in Talakayan sa PIA, a media forum, that the ultimate goal is to produce HOTS, or hired-on-the-spot.
The World Café of Opportunities simply gathers all the possible opportunities for a job seeker.
"That is why we need the help of our partner agencies; we need the help also of our employers, all the industries; we need the opportunities to be offered through this platform, the World Café of Opportunities. And let us help our job seekers to ultimately land a job," he said.
Meanwhile, Austolio V. Igot, chief of regional operations division, shared that this year, TESDA-10 has prepared various opportunities and activities for TVET graduates and other interested applicants to enjoy and avail of during the World of Café Opportunities Job Fair, namely the National Enrollment Day, the Information Caravan on TESDA programs and services, the Skills Demonstration, and the Job Fair.
Further, TESDA 10 is focused this year on agriculture, construction, IT, tourism, and land transportation as key sectors.
Rebecca Mary Justine Camugao, senior labor and employment officer of Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10, shared, "What our skilled workers need now are opportunities which is why TESDA, in partnership with DOLE and Public Employment Services Office (PESO), and other agencies, have this job fair because kini sa atong job fair diri dayon nato sila ma match [ in this job fair, we can match them]."
Ampong advised job seekers to have positive thoughts.
"They should be a positive person with high hopes, and second, they must exhaust all the needed ways to take advantage of all the opportunities that are there," he said. (JMOR/PIA-10)
