In a Facebook post, Vice Mayor Ma Olivia Pascual said that the acquisition of MB Nueva Segovia is a dream come true for Mayor Florante Pascual and for all Lal-loqueños.
"This morning, while I was in a program at the DSWD Region Satellite Office, I received a message from Engr. Leopoldo Colosaga, Jr., asking if I would like to inspect the unit and go for a trial ride. So I went," the vice mayor said.
"This will be used for tourism purposes and as a river ambulance in emergency response," she added.
The 40-seater boat is a twin-engine multi-role vessel that will be utilized to boost tourism programs since the municipality is home to many beautiful tourism destinations such as the Magapit Suspension Bridge, the Mighty Cagayan River, and the Neolithic Shell Midden Site, among others.
The ferryboat can also be used to transport people in need of medical attention, according to Pascual. (OTB/MDCT/PIA Cagayan)
