BAGUIO CITY (PIA) -- The Saint Louis University topped the August 2023 Medical Technologist Licensure Examinations with a 100 percent passing rate.
The Professional Regulations Commission announced that SLU is the top performing school in said board exams with all its 152 examinees passing the tedious exams .
SLU graduate Sam Jeffrey Bitao Tiongco topped the examination with a 93.30 rating.
The PRC said that 3,982 out of 5,401 passed the Medical Technologists Licensure Examination given by the Board of Medical Technology in NCR, Baguio City, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga this August 2023.
SLU is a consistent top performing school in the Med Tech board exams. It is rank one among schools nationwide in the January and March 2021, and January 2022 examinations.
In March licensure exam this year, SLU was ranked number 2 but produced three topnotchers.
Meanwhile, the University of Baguio recorded a 92.25 passing rate with 119 passers out of the 129 examinees for the latest Medical Technologist Board exams, and is Rank 8 among the top performing schools nationwide.
The Commission on Higher Education - Cordillera congratulated the remarkable performance of the two universities and gave special mention to the topnotcher of the said exams.
CHED-CAR said that SLU has once again demonstrated its outstanding dedication to excellence, as evidenced by the fact that its Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology program is CHED's Center of Development.
“Congratulations to Saint Louis University and the University of Baguio for their remarkable performance during the August 2023 Medical Technologist Licensure Exam! Special shout-out to Sam Jeffrey B. Tiongco, an esteemed alumnus of SLU, who achieved the 1st rank among all examinees with an average of 93.30%,” CHED-CAR stated in a social media post.
