DOLE 6 ramps GAD, labor support programs

ILOILO CITY (PIA) -- Several orientations on Gender and Development and Career Development and Support Programs (GAD-CDSP) were made among GAD-CDSP focal persons and officials of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 6 across the region recently.

Aimed at promoting a GAD-centered workplace and a GAD-conscious workforce, the discussions revolve on Basic Gender and Development, Gender Sensitivity training, GAD programs, and Gender Activity Analysis.

Per DOLE 6 news release, the participants exchanged ideas specifically on the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) tools, Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF), and the Bureau of Local Employment (BLE)-CDSP.

An assessment of the GMEF per province, action planning, and the GAD-CDSP focal persons’ consultation meeting also formed part of the two-day activity.

Plaques for the Best GAD Video Production was given to the DOLE 6- Iloilo Field Office, while the Best GAD Bulletin Corner Presentation was bestowed to the DOLE 6 Capiz Field Office.

Further, in support of the GAD advocacy, DOLE 6 regional director lawyer Sixto T. Rodriguez, Jr. issued a memorandum for 

the creation of the GAD Focal Point System Team in order to provide direction in the implementation of the GAD programs and other GAD-related initiatives.

Rodriguez also issued a memorandum on the Use of Gender Fair Language of the offices under the labor department and directed the DOLE 6 field offices to conduct more orientations on Basic GAD and Gender Sensitivity training. (AAL/AGP/ PIA 6 with reports from DOLE 6)
