DRRM Roadshow equips community on disaster response

TADIAN, Mountain Province (PIA) -- The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) - Tadian, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Tadian thru the Municipal DRRM Office, Tadian Municipal Police Station, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 1502nd Company, and Mountain Province Bureau of Jail and Management Penology conducted a Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Roadshow on August 25, 2023 at MPSPC-Tadian Campus as part of celebration of the 32nd Anniversary of the BFP.

SFO4 Chesterboy T. Presco, Officer-in- Charge of BFP-Tadian, shared that the community will benefit from said activity through empowering them to participate in disaster respose operations with the uniformed personnel are in the area.


“During responses, kaadwan mabain da to other responders especially nu adda en dagitoy uniformed personnel. Babaen ditoy nga showcasing, maipakita kenyada nga uray isuda capable da nga ag responde with proper training and coordination with the BFP,” he said.

During the DRR Roadshow, community members from various barangays of Tadian were equipped with CPR technique, Basic Fire Suppression, Bandaging, Patient Transport, and Rappelling.


Apart from the basic DRRM Trainings, participants were also treated with a uniform showcase from uniformed personnel.


Masla Barangay Kagawad Arthur Doria said his learnings during the training.


“Adu met ti naadal me. Haan me inexpect nga kastoy gayam ti ipa-training da kenyami. Nu kasanu ag iddep ti puor, usaraen me daytoy fire truck, naigaman mi jai hose nga adda danum na,” he said.


Doria also shared his message of thanks to the facilitators and to the different barangays for attending such activity. (JPM/VJLT, PIA-CAR, MP)
