Virac, Catanduanes (PIA) - As part of the celebration of its 29th anniversary and National Tech-Voc Day, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) conducted the World Café of Opportunities (WCO) at the Plaza Rizal Covered Court on Wednesday, August 23.
The activity was pursuant to RA 10970 or “An Act Declaring the Twenty-Fifth Day of August of Every Year as National Tech-Voc Day.” On the other hand, the WCO serves as a one-stop shop where government agencies, private companies, and tech-voc institutions converge to offer employment, training, competency assessment, and financial assistance to TVET graduates.
In his message, Governor Joseph Boboy Cua encouraged Tesda graduates and job seekers to spread the word about the World Café and visit the job fair stressing its significance in providing employment opportunities including to fresh graduates.
Meanwhile, Tesda Provincial Director Arcangel T. Rodriguez expressed his gratitude to the participating government agencies and local private companies. According to him, WCO is among the programs of Tesda to connect technical vocational education and training graduates to employment support interventions
Aside from the WCO, TESDA also facilitated the assessment and enrollment in various Tesda courses which includes Masonry NC I, Organic Agriculture Production NC II, Construction Painting NC II and Driving NC II.
TESDA Catanduanes also expressed gratitude to the following agencies for their support: Department of Labor and Employment, Public Employment Service Office, Social Security System, Provincial Local Government of Catanduanes, Local Government Unit of Virac, Congressional District Office, TGP Partylist, and Philippine Information Agency - Catanduanes.
