SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union (PIA) – The Philippine Statistics Authority-Regional Statistical Services Office 1 (PSA-RSSO 1) encouraged the public to use the PhilSys Check to verify the authenticity of ePhilID or the digital version of the Philippine identification cards.
Some reports are circulating that some establishments do not recognize the ePhilID as a valid ID.
According to Camille Carla Beltran, the chief administrative officer of the PSA-RSSO 1, the ePhilID holders may do the verification by visiting the website at verify.philsys.gov.ph and scanning the QR-code feature.
Beltran reiterated that the ePhilID shall be honored and accepted as a valid ID that can be used for all transactions with both government and private establishments.
The PhilSys Check is accessible online through the use of any computer or smart device with a camera and internet browser.
Beltran said if the establishment insists on rejecting the ePhilID despite successful verification, report the incident to the nearest registration offices, or hotline 1388, or email: info@philsys.gov.ph.
Refusal to accept or acknowledge the ePhilID or PhilID is illegal and punishable by law and can be fined amounting to P500,000.
(JCR/AMB/CGRC, PIA Region 1)
