TESDA LDN's nat'l TVET enrollment day sparks hope for aspiring skilled workforce

ILIGAN CITY (PIA)--Committed to fostering growth, innovation, and excellence in vocational training and skills enhancement across the country, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)-Lanao del Norte held the National Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Enrollment Day at Robinsons Place Iligan.

A total of 26 technical-vocational schools came together for this event, aiming to equip individuals with the hands-on skills and knowledge they need to succeed in today's job market and contribute to economic progress.

The event also aims to promote TVET by encouraging individuals to enroll in TESDA's diverse qualifications and scholarship opportunities.

"Ginaawhag namo ang gustong magpa-enrol sa mga qualifications sa TESDA so that pag na nay available nga scholarship, priority ang mga kaigsuonan nga nakapaenrol karong adalawa

[We encourage those who want to enroll in TESDA qualifications so that when there are available scholarships, priority will be given to the individuals who have enrolled today]," said Norayah Acas, provincial director of TESDA Lanao del Norte.

Marcelo Dangcalan, who enrolled for a driving qualification and hails from Linamon, Lanao del Norte, is thankful for the opportunity. He used to catch fish as a source of income, but he was not stable. On enrolment day, he envisions a future where driving would provide him the means to secure a better future.

Dangcalan also wanted to learn how to help his neighbors, especially during emergencies.

Usa mo sa makatabang sa pobre sa bukid [I am very grateful that TESDA organized an event here. It is a significant help for the community, and I truly appreciate it. Thank you very much, TESDA. You are one of the instruments that will help the poor]," he said.
