TARLAC CITY (PIA) -- Armed Forces of the Philippines Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) conducted a training on pistol marksmanship to upgrade the shooting proficiency of the troops.
The ongoing Pistol Marksmanship Proficiency Enhancement Training, held at the Camp Aquino Integrated Pistol and Rifle Firing Range, will run until the last quarter of the year.
NOLCOM Commander Lieutenant General Fernyl Buca said the training seeks to improve the shooting skills of personnel, and further empower them in handling their pistols.
“This type of training aims to further improve the pistol shooting fundamentals of every NOLCOM personnel ensuring they are versatile, flexible, and highly skilled in dealing with any situation, regardless of the level of intensity, across the entire spectrum of military operations,” Buca explained.
The training is among the efforts of the command to ensure a well-trained and highly proficient force which can effectively deliver and perform their mandated duties.
“Continuous training is fundamental to maintaining our readiness. It is part of our efforts in striving to become a Sustainment-Maintained and Readiness-Trained Force, protectors of the people,” Buca added.
NOLCOM recently launched an Aikido Martial Arts Training Program to boost the fighting skills of the troops on defense without the use of any firearm or weapon.
It is composed of three courses namely Basic Aikido, Advanced Aikido, and a specialized Aikido Integrated Course designed for instructors. (CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3)
