SAN ISIDRO, Abra (PIA) -- The Municipal Police Station (MPS) of San Isidro Abra organizes its Municipal Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (MAGPTD) to help them in protecting the people and for a better and more effectual local police command.
In a recent reorganizational meeting, San Isidro Mayor Elmerante Pacsa committed the full support of the local government unit in the realization and implementation of Phikippine National Police programs and activities in the town towards a more peaceful, safe and secure community.
“Magtulongan tayo from the barangay up to the LGU para protektahan ang ating lugar kaya maayos na may advisory group tayo dito sa San Isidro; full support ang LGU dito,” Pacsa said.
The MAGPTD meeting convened by the San Isidro MPS through the leadership of Acting Chief of Police PLt. Reylan D. Balingway was attended by different members from the academe, women, media, elderly , religious and youth sectors and some police retirees.
Balingway presented the salient features of the MAGPTD, formerly known as the Municipal Advisory Council . One of the core areas of the MAGPTD is the Parcitipatory Governance System which implements the best practices of good governance by leaders, personnel and civil servants. He also presented the MPS’s tactical dashboard which serves as a tool in monitoring crimes and police actions and activities.
In an interview, Balingway said he wanted to organize the MPS advisory group as he acknowledges the importance and participation of the different sectors in establishing a peaceful and orderly town.
“Kailangan namin ang support ng advisory council para may kasama ang ating kapulisan sa trabaho on peace and order dito sa San Isidro. Mahalaga ang participation ng mga sectors,” he said even as he declared that San Isidro is generally peaceful as there was no major crime incident recorded in the first semester this 2023.
Once fully organized, the MAGPTD plans to employ a house to house campaign and information dissemination of the PNP’s priority thrusts on peace and order. (JDP/CAGT – PIA CAR, Abra)
