BALANGA CITY (PIA) -- About 84 individuals in Bataan received business kits from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) under the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) Program.
PPG is a livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development program which aims to support micro enterprises affected by natural calamities or health disasters to restart their businesses.
DTI OIC-Provincial Director Eileen Ocampo said recipients in the province include solo parents, housewives, cancer and dialysis patients, and persons with disabilities.
"Through PPG, DTI Bataan has awarded livelihood kits worth P10,000 to each of the 84 beneficiaries of sari-sari and bigasan store packages in the 11 municipalities and one city in Bataan," Ocampo added.
PPG also intends to provide livelihood opportunities for identified beneficiaries in areas considered as priorities of the national government such as the whole-of-nation approach to end local communist armed conflict and Balik Probinsya Program for the purpose of establishing a micro enterprise.
Provincial Governor’s Office consultant Godofredo Galicia, Jr., who represented Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III during the event, thanked DTI for the opportunity provided to the beneficiaries.
“May you work hard on creating, maintaining, and improving your business. We hope that you let it flourish so that in time, you can pay forward by helping our economy,” Galicia reminded the grantees.
The Negosyo Centers in the province will regularly monitor beneficiaries on their development and growth. (CLJD/RPQ-PIA 3)
