
CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) -- Ten ambulant vendors from different barangays of Calapan City received Negokarts from the Department of Labor and Employment Office (DOLE) which costs P30,000 each.
The distribution of Negokarts fall under the Kabuhayan program of the agency which aims to augment the livelihood of the ambulant-vendor beneficiaries.
The vendors will use the negokarts to sell vegetables, fish, street food, and other forms of businesses that are applicable to each beneficiaries’ capabilities. DOLE Oriental Mindoro Provincial Office Livelihood Focal Ramezes Torres lead the inauguration of negokarts to which he gave message of encouragement to the ambulant vendors. "Sana ay mapagbuti at mapaunlad n'yo ang inyong natanggap na pangkabuhayan kasi ito po ay libreng ipinagkaloob sa inyo at wala po kayong babayaran kahit magkano."
After the inauguration ceremony, beneficiaries of the livelihood project expressed their gratitude to DOLE and the City Government of Calapan in providing them the opportunity to better their lives through the support of the government.
"Maraming salamat po sa ipinagkaloob sa akin ng DOLE, malaking tulong po nito sa akin. Ito po ay aking tatangkilikin at palalaguin para sa aking pamilya," said Amparo Soriano, one of the ten beneficiaries of the livelihood program.
Aside from the negokarts, the City Government of Calapan through the Serbisyong Tama Center provided fresh products to the ambulant vendors such as fish and meat to kick-start their livelihood using their respective Negokarts. (JJGS/PIA Oriental Mindoro)
