PSC gears for 34th NSM celeb

SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) -- The Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) is preparing for the observance of the 34th National Statistic Month (NSM) come October 2023 in a meeting held recently at the Gov. Josue L. Cadiao Multi-Purpose Center, ANIAD Building, New Capitol here.

Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Julie O. Cepe called for the participation of all agencies, noting the need to push for public appreciation of statistics in all development undertakings.


Beyond compliance with government mandate, Cepe also urged all government instrumentalities to join in the exhibits of statistical data of their respective agencies so that the public will know how statistics are being used in development undertakings.

 Aside from the display of statistical data of the members of the PSC, the 34th NSM will also feature a statistical quiz contest among junior high schools and college students and various contests using online platforms such as search for best infographics and e-poster making contests.

On part of the Philippine Statistics Authority, Supervising Statistical Specialist Rodme Febreo lauded the participation of the members of the PSC and all the schools who joined in last year’s celebration with a record high of 23 secondary schools and five colleges that participated in the statistics quiz contest.


A radio program to be hosted by the Philippine Information Agency (Oand Provincial Information Office will also be conducted to drumbeat the celebration.

The launching program of National Statistics Month was set on Oct. 2, 2023, anchored by the theme "Accelerating Progress: Promoting Data and Statistics for a Healthy Philippines.”

On the same day, the opening of the statistical exhibit will be held at the Old Capitol, and a caravan will follow along the major thoroughfares of Hamtic, Sibalom, and San Jose towns. (AGP/PSM/PIA-Antique with reports from Cherry Ann Santosildes/GIP)
