CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--True to its commitment as an external partner of the 55th Engineer Brigade (EBde) in its quest for transformation, good governance, and transparency, the Multi-Sectoral Advisory Board (MSAB) unveiled its waiting first shed project to provide convenience and comfort to commuters in Maria Cristina village in Baloi town, Lanao del Norte.
The waiting shed was constructed just outside the Brigade's headquarters so that commuters from the 55thEBde community would no longer stand in the rain or sweltering heat while waiting for public transport going to the municipal hall and the Poblacion area.
MSAB chairperson Nabel Sarip said the project was conceptualized over a year ago to kick off the Board's efforts to help the Brigade strengthen its relationship with its external stakeholders.
Major Jeron Etrone, chief of the Brigade's Governance Strategic Management Office, said the unveiling signifies a pivotal moment in the unit and MSAB's journey towards progress and collaboration.
"The unveiling of the marker symbolizes not just a physical structure but the embodiment of a shared vision of excellence. Let us make this a platform to make a lasting impact on the community," he said.
Through the assistance of the army engineers, the MSAB also plans to add a bulletin board and book/magazine shelf to the waiting shed. These will be filled with magazines, pamphlets, comics, and other IEC materials promoting the Army Transformation Roadmap so that, while waiting, commuters can read about the Army transformation and be informed about the vital role of army engineers in peacebuilding and development.

After the unveiling ceremony, the MSAB members convened its 3rd quarter meeting and discussed preparations and logistical requirements for the conduct of a Medical Mission in partnership with the Integrated Provincial Health Office of Lanao del Sur scheduled after the Barangay and SK polls in October.
The Board also agreed to hold a gift-giving activity for 100 children in the community as part of the celebration of the Brigade's anniversary on October 16.
The MSAB is an external advisory group tasked to provide expert advice on the concerns related to the Transformation Roadmap, including Governance and Policy, Resource Generation, Strategic Communication, and Research and Education. Its members are volunteer experts from the government, religious, media, youth, and private sectors. (APB/PIA-10)
