Las Piñas lgu distributes cash assistance to 139 small-scale rice retailers

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) – Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar took a decisive stand to safeguard the city's small-scale rice retailers, traders, and vendors response to the imposition of rice price cap in the country.

Through the guidance of Mayor Aguilar, the City Agriculture Office, in cooperation with the City Social Welfare and Development Office, distributed P15,000 in cash assistance to 139 deserving beneficiaries on Tuesday, September 12.

Mayor Aguilar emphasized that the cash assistance is just preliminary since the city government is in the process of developing a more comprehensive plan to support local rice traders and vendors.

The mayor said the cash assistance aims to provide immediate relief to small businesses to unburden them with the rising cost of rice and empower them to continue their operations and contribute to stabilize rice supply in the community. (LP PIO/PIA-NCR)
