BAGUIO CITY(PIA) -- The Apayao Police Provincial Office reached out to one of the far-flung communities in the province to extend helping hand to the people at the barangay and to personally check their current situation after the consecutive typhoons that hit the province.
Apayao PPO Director PCol. Jefferson Cariaga led the Philippine National Police Oplan BES or the Bisita Eskwela Program at the Langnao Elementary School in Barangay Naguilian in Calanasan, Apayao recently. He said they conduct visitations to strengthen the police-community partnership, sustain crime prevention efforts, and extend help to the community.
At least 38 learners received school supplies and other items from the police officers who also conducted feeding activity and dialogue with the residents.
Cariaga encouraged the learners to strive and persevere to finish their studies and eventually reach their dreams and ambition amidst the challenges of life. He called on them to not let the hardships of life destroy their dreams of a better life, rather this should inspire them to study harder.
The Provincial Director also assured that the police officers will continue to support them in any way they can especially the residents in the far flung brangays.
Personnel who participated in the activity include those assigned at the Apayao PPO Provincial Headquarters, 1st and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Companies, Regional Intelligence Unit-14, 1505th Maneuver Company of Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, and Calanasan Municipal Police Station.
The team was able to reach the Langnao Elementary School and community thru a motorbike ride from Luna town to Barangay Naguillian in Calasanan, boat ride and a 15 kilometer trek to the mountainous terrain and crossing several rivers.
