QUEZON CITY  (PIA) – Farmers' produce from the Province of Quirino  takes center stage in a Culminating Activity through its Quirino Integrated Rural Development Project (QIRDP) on Friday, September 15 held in The Podium, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

The QIRDP is a joint project of the Provincial Government of Quirino (PGQ) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in its goal to bring significant improvement in the living conditions of Quirino farmers.

The activity aims to highlight the food and non-food products from the province, as well as its unique biodiversity and cultural heritage and unequalled natural attractions.

As the province take the path towards agro-industrial development, the event will also provide a platform to showcase investment opportunities from the region, particularly in the agribusiness sector.

To also make Quirino products accessible to all Filipinos nationwide, the Quirino Shopee Online Store was launched adding value to the produce of farmers.

The QIRDP is the second phase of the Quirino Integrated Agricultural Development Project (QIADP) implemented in Quirino Province as part of the Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) Program of the Korean Government through KOICA.

It was conceptualized in 2017 to promote agroforestry-based integrated farming model, develop livestock industry through the establishment of Cattle Breeding Center (CBC), and ensure complete value chain formation through the Quirino Livelihood for Everyone (Q-LiFE) Processing Center.

The center provides marketing workshop and skills training, as well as post-harvest facilities for storage and processing of goods. (PIA-NCR)
