CEBU CITY (PIA) – Senator Imee Marcos led the distribution of cash assistance to beneficiaries of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Region 7 (DSWD-7) in the cities of Danao and Bogo.
Each of the 2,000 beneficiaries received P3,000 during the cash payout held on September 17, 2023.

The distribution of assistance to a total of 988 beneficiaries, composed of nine families from Brgy. Tuburan Sur in Danao City, one family from Brgy. Sabang affected by a landslide, and victims of a fire incident at the Danao Public Market last year, was held at the Cebu Technological University-Danao Campus. The event was attended by Danao City Mayor Thomas Mark Durano, Vice Mayor Ramon Durano III, former congressman Red Durano, and former tourism secretary Ace Durano.
Meanwhile, 1,002 beneficiaries from Bogo City received the cash aid distributed by Senator Marcos, with assistance from Bogo City Mayor Carlo Jose A. Martinez and Vice Mayor Maria Cielo Martinez, at the Bogo City Hall Compound Covered Court.
In her message, Senator Marcos said the release of the AICS assistance through the DSWD-7 will help the families who are undergoing financial difficulties.
The senator also brought with her the nutribun, which she personally distributed to the beneficiaries of Danao City’s Anak Program and selected children of Brgy. Sabang, Danao.
Nutribun is the nutrition-packed bread that was distributed during elementary school feeding programs in the Philippines in the 1970s to combat hunger and malnutrition. (RMN/PIA-7 with reports from DSWD-7)
