ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) -- The Capiz Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (CaPENRO) is in search of the 10 outstanding environmental champions dubbed as the “Dungog Lunhaw 10” to recognize the remarkable environmental efforts of individuals and organizations in the province.
Dungog Lunhaw 10 is an annual recognition program that acknowledges the Capisnons who have significantly contributed to the restoration, protection, and preservation of the environment.

This year, Dungog Lunhaw 10 will award five individual and five organization-led initiatives, who will receive P20,000.00 each and a plaque of recognition from the Capiz provincial government.
CaPENRO Administrative Officer Francis Jan Dariagan said they want to breed environmental initiatives especially those Capisnon in the grassroots level and marginalized communities, acknowledging their efforts towards environmental conservation.
“This is what we wanted to give, a network of people who practice environmental management and environmental awareness,” Dariagan added.
The acceptance of nominations will be from September 1 to October 30, while the awarding ceremony will be held in this province this coming November 29.
The CaPENRO has officially kicked off the Dungog Lunhaw 10 through the coordination meeting with their partner agencies marking the beginning of the meticulous process of identifying and honoring the 10 most outstanding environmental initiatives in Capiz this 2023.
As the search for the 10 Outstanding Environmental Initiatives continues, CaPENRO looks forward to celebrating the achievements of its environmental champions and building a brighter, more sustainable future for the province and its inhabitants. (AGP/PLF/PIA Capiz)
