LAGAWE, Ifugao (PIA) - - Owners of the farm and training schools in the province are grateful to the Technical Education Skills Authority (TESDA) for holding the World Café of Opportunities (WACO) cum National Technical-Vocational Day in the province where they were able to hire on the spot 25 job seekers.
Ivan Baguilat, owner of the JM Baguilat Recreational Hub in Lamut town, who four job seekers, said the activity directly opened the door for selection of qualified workers for immediate hiring after interview.
Analiza Saguilot of the Aquilina Saguilot Farm of Lamut, thanked also the organizers of the event as she was able to immediately hire two individuals.
The J&E Farming School of Alfonso that hired one individual appreciated the efforts of TESDA and other agencies that provided skilled jobs applicants.
“The activity made our hiring process easy because the applicants are here and they can be hired immediately, so I’m very happy,” Eliza Sevilleja stated.
The Camat’s Integrated Organic Farm and Training Center, Bunoy’s Integrated Farm and Lobong Marcela Rice-Based Farms hired four employees each while two for Macario Argueza Integrated farm.
Hiring one each are the Riverview Polytechnic and Academic School Inc., Macadangdang Integrated Farm, Baby-Angeline Integrated Farm, J & B Bayawon’s Farming School and Jacob’s Farming School.
The 25 are among the hundreds of individuals who trooped to the Lagawe Central School gymnasium for the WACO recently hoping to be hired by recruitment agencies and participating entities including farm and training schools in the province.
The WACO is a strategic avenue of providing opportunities to jobseekers to find jobs suitable to their skills. Government agencies, private companies, and technical-vocational institutions converge to offer employment, training, and competency assessment to applicants. (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
