In an effort to achieve economic and social growth, the government will keep promoting investment in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which will benefit the country by reducing unemployment and other job challenges.
President Marcos instructed the council and other partner agencies to fast track the issuance of the implementing rules and regulations to make the R.A. No. 11962 immediately effective.
Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva, principal sponsor and author of the Act, expressed gratitude to President Marcos for signing it and helping the implementation of the plans.
“I am thankful to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for his trust and support to me to lead the legislation of this important measure which is the key to addressing various challenges and creating jobs in the country,” Villanueva said.
Among the witnesses of the signing ceremony are Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva, Senator Imee Marcos, Representative Gus Tambunting, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma of Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Secretary Arsenio Balisacan the director general of National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Secretary Alfredo Pascual of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Secretary Amenah Pangandaman of Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Director-General Suharto Mangudadatu of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and Presidential Legislative Advisor Mark Llandro Mendoza.
