PBBM signs ‘Trabaho Para sa Bayan Act’

QUEZON CITY (PIA) -- To ensure equal and quality employment opportunities in the country, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. signed the Republic Act (R.A.) No. 11962 or the "Act of Establishing the National Employment Master Plan" on 27 September 2023 at the Kalayaan Hall in Malacañang Palace.

R.A. No. 11962 to be known as the 'Trabaho Para sa Bayan Plan' enacted to expand the national employment recovery and job generation master plan.

"Sa ating mamamayan na Pilipino, alam po namin na hangad ninyo na magkaroon ng maayos, matatag at marangal na trabaho. Sa pagpasa ng batas na ito, binubuksan natin ang isang bagong yugto sa ating bansa kung saan mayroong sapat at dekalidad na trabaho para sa lahat (To my fellow Filipinos, we know that you wish to have a gainful, stable and dignified job. With the passage of this law, we are opening a new phase in our country where there is sufficient and quality work for all)," President Marcos said during his speech on ceremonial signing.

To continue helping individuals and vulnerable families who have been affected by inflation, the R.A. No. 11962 is a combined version of Senate Bill No. 2035 or the "Act Establishing the National Employment Master Plan" and the House Bill No. 8400 or the "Act Institutionalizing and Expanding the National Employment Recovery Strategy (NERS) to a Job Creation Plan."
