This forms part of the 6th Capiz Regional Tourism Expo at the Robinsons Place, here.

The month-long festival will be participated in by Roxas City and the 16 municipalities whose collective participation creates one Christmas Village for the whole province as an attraction for local and international tourists.

The Christmas Villages coined “Paskwa ni JuOne” will be characterized by elaborate displays depicting the Story of the Nativity of Jesus Christ and the life of the Holy Family, which will be open to the public beginning Dec. 1.

It is a competition among the local government units as the best diorama for the theme will be determined based on a criteria.

One of the highlights of the villages will be the Christmas Bazaar for the city and municipalities to offer their specialties and local products like native delicacies, fruits, agri-aquamarine products, processed foods, crafts and woodworks, among other souvenir items.

The tourism initiative will be complemented by the "LagawOne Group Tours" or a curated tour that will showcase the tourism attractions, product offerings, Christmas Village and Bazaar, culture and traditions and the arts and crafts of city/municipal destinations.

Gov. Fredenil H. Castro has met with Roxas City Tourism Officer Bryan Mari Argos, Department of Education (DepED) Schools Division Office of Roxas City Superintendent Dr. Roel Bermejo and public school administrators to solicit and subsequently discuss their support to the festival.

The “Paskwa sang Maragtas” will be further spiced up by the 1st Capiz Grand Shopping & Travel Sale from Dec. 26 to Dec. 31 which will also be launched, along with the Capiztahan 2024 as well as Balik Capiz Grand Homecoming, during the tourism expo.

The 6-day grand shopping and travel sale will be an inaugural event of the newly-formed MICE Alliance of Capiz that will highlight a wide and diverse array of goods, facilities and services, and attractions in the province through the convergence of business and tourism establishments in the province.

Meanwhile, the tourism expo from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1 will pave the way for the gathering of tourism establishments and stakeholders, Capiz local government units, the academe, and tourism offices in the Western Visayas as part of the Tourism Month celebration. (AGP/AAL/PIA Capiz)
