Parada de San Miguel 2023 celebrates unity among government, private sector

ILIGAN CITY (PIA)--The Parada de San Miguel brought together various departments of the city government, schools, national government agencies, barangays, civil society organizations, fraternities and sororities, and business establishments, demonstrating the spirit of unity and creativity in the community as part of the month-long celebration of Diyandi Festival to honor the city’s patron saint, Senior San Miguel.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Iligan Light and Power Inc. (ILPI), and Gregorio T. Lluch Memorial Hospital were the winners of the Grand Float Parade competition, which was one of the event's highlights.

 Jeffre Opema, operations unit manager and spokesperson for ILPI, expressed their enthusiasm for participating in the city's celebration and their commitment to the people of Iligan.

“Kinasing-kasing ni Iligan Light nga muparticipate aron mapakita sa mga konsumante nga naa visible mi ug maduso ang nadevelop nga mobile app [Iligan Light participated heartily to show the consumers that we were visible and to promote our developed mobile application],” he said.

In the Grand Marching Showdown competition, talented marching bands showcased their precision and coordination. Iligan City National High School emerged as the champion, followed by the D’Unified and Banda Iliganon. (LELA/PIA-10/Lanao del Norte)
