QUEZON CITY (PIA) -- With the month of November slowly coming near, the City of Valenzuela will have its 400th Foundation Day, with the theme "Valenzuela 400: History and Progress."

In line with the upcoming special occasion, the Valenzuela City government is hosting a photo and video media competition until November 5, 2023.

The Photography and Video Contest is open to all Filipino citizens ages 16 and above, except employees of the City Government of Valenzuela. Any contenders who are below the age of 18 shall only be allowed if they register a signed letter of consent from their legal parent/guardian.

For the purpose of joining the Photo Category or Video Category, aspiring partakers must follow the Facebook pages of Valenzuela City, Mayor Wes Gatchalian, and the Instagram account @valenzuelacitygov. Like the post of the contest and share them publicly, on either social media platform. Proof of these actions is required, so there must be a screenshot.

To submit the photo, post it on your Facebook and Instagram, and set it as Public. The post must include the hashtags #Valenzuela400 #HistoryandProgress #PamilyangValenzuelano, and tag @valenzuelacitygov.

Video entries can be a skit, short documentary, tourism promotion video, or any type as long as it does not exceed 3 minutes. Scripts and voice-overs may be in English or Filipino. On the Video Category submissions, Facebook and Tiktok are the platforms of choice, with the same rules and tags applied as the Photo Category.

Photo Contest Winners will earn the ff:

1st Place: P50,000 

2nd Place: P30,000

3rd Place: P15,000

Video Contest Winners will earn the ff:

1st Place: P100,000

2nd Place: P70,000

3rd Place: P30,000

The photo/video must capture the essence of the theme, “Valenzuela 400: History and Progress” must be his/her original work, and have not been used in any prior contest. All photos/videos must be taken in Valenzuela City. A participant can only submit one photo and/or video as entry.
