Nueva Vizcaya guv supports EO 39

Nueva Vizcaya Governor Jose Gambito (standing) expressed support to the Executive Order No. 39 of President Ferdinand Marcos,Jr. as it stabilized rice prices for the benefit of the poor. He also thanked the rice retailers in the province for complying with the EO.

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA)  — Governor Jose Gambito expressed support to President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.'s Executive Order No. 39, mandating the Rice Price Ceiling in the country.

“We are grateful for the EO 39 of  President Marcos as this went well for the benefit of our consumers, especially the poor,” he said.

Gambito made the statement during the distribution of Emergency Relief Subsidy (ERS) to the second batch of 228 Micro Rice Retailers (MRRs) in the province at the Ammungan Hall of the provincial capitol.

The ERS was given by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) at P15,000 each recipient .

He also thanked the MRRs for their cooperation and support to EO 39.

A rice retailer in Nueva Vizcaya shows her Emergency Relief Subsidy (ERS) given by the DSWD and DTI for complying with the EO No. 39 mandating Rice Price Ceiling in the country.

“This shows that the national government and the MRR sector are working together to help our rice consumers, especially the poor,” Gambito said.

The Governor said the provincial government is also doing its best to help farmers in the province that will boost the production of rice that will contribute to rice price stabilization in the country.

Marietta Salviejo, DTI Provincial Director, thanked the MRRs for their cooperation and support, saying the compliance rate of MRRs in the province is now at 96 percent.

She said EO 39  might be lifted anytime  as the harvest season for rice is on the way that will eventually stabilize the prices in the market. (BME/PIA NVizcaya)
