Cordillera MSMEs exhibit DOST-assisted products in Techno Bazaar

BANGUED, Abra(PIA) -- Various Cordilleran products of  Department of Science and Technology-assisted enterprises  were showcased in  the Techno Bazaar  held at  the  Town Plaza as part of the Regional Science and Technology Week(RSTW)  hosted by the province.

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from every  Cordillera province presented   their  product innovation offerings  that  include coffee, muscovado, banana chips, loom-woven cloths and other variety items.

DOST officials led by Undersecretary Sancho A. Mabborang along with local officials of the province, partners and stakeholders  opened the techno bazaar on Sept. 27.

Mabborang urged the public to  contribute to the growth and development of the MSMEs by buying their products.  

Various Kalinga Coffee were displayed at RSTW Techno Bazaar.

The three-day  Techno Bazaar   generated  total sales of P258,498 from the 23 participating MSMEs  in the region.

Melvin Bitog of Zed Antiques and Furniture from Brgy. Caba, Lagawe, Ifugao  was able to sell   three sets of furniture.

Despite the long hours of travel, Bitog expressed his eagerness to join more trade fairs in Abra.

Garbo Bamboo and Woodcrafts owner Rachel Campol is one of the Abrenian MSMEs who have been actively participating  in the trade fairs of DOST and  the Department of trade and Industry(DTI). She said that it is an opportunity to introduce her business and boost her sales.

“I have participated in  the national trade fair in Alabang recently, and other trade fairs of DOST and DTI. I always join because it is a way to increase my business’ popularity and boost its sales,” she said in an interview. (JDP/CAGT – PIA CAR, Abra)

Look: Products from Benguet and Baguio such as the peanut brittle, peanut butter and Lengua De Gato were also showcased at the RSTW Techno Bazaar.
